nothing mid about this summer

rolling through with a brief summary of a packed summer:

  • I learned how to fence for a one-weekend-only run of Athena by Gracie Gardner. Apparently this is the year of learning new sports skills and playing athletic teenagers! Despite the brevity of the run, I fell in love with Mary Wallace and hope to see her again one day.

  • My first 14/48 festival as an actor! I spent all of Thursday hearing everyone say “I can’t believe you’re a rookie!” and then all of Friday hearing everyone say “I can’t believe you got the two-hander!” I had a delightful time, but I have to say - Dice must have ruined my perception of what a reasonable amount of adrenaline feels like.

  • Speaking of Dice - I did both of those shows while rehearsing for Dice: A Midsummer Night’s Dream. I served as our fight captain again and got really close to playing every part. We took the show up to Port Townsend again this year where I played Bottom for the fifth time - this year marked the first time I’ve ever been locked out of playing a track!

Up next I’ll be hanging out with Seattle Shakespeare Company for their Drum & Colors production of Love’s Labors Lost where you can catch me as Rosaline and hopefully soon I’ll have some more news to share about an upcoming project in the spring!
